Concerned about the future of American health care? You won’t want to miss this!
CDPHP and the University at Albany School of Public Health are pleased to present a timely and critical conversation on access to high-quality, affordable heath care in your community.
This free public forum will take place on Wednesday, June 18 at 5 pm at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, NY. The event will feature a keynote address by thought leader and health policy expert Donald Berwick, MD, who is also a candidate for Massachusetts governor and one of the nation’s staunchest advocates for high-quality health care.
The speech will be followed by a panel discussion led by local experts:

- Mark N. Eagan, President & CEO, Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce
- David Shippee, President & CEO, Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services

The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required.
Ali Skinner About the Author
Ali Skinner is a communications professional with nearly 20 years of media, marketing, advertising, and public relations experience. She joined CDPHP in November 2011 and currently serves as Vice President, Communications and External Affairs for one of the top health plans in New York and the nation. In this role, Ali oversees all internal and external communications, public relations, and government relations for the plan’s 400,000 members and 1,200 employees. A self-described recovering journalist, Ali spent 10 years writing and delivering news for a number of television and radio stations in the Syracuse and Albany, NY markets. Today, she uses her journalism background to help patients and the public make sense of complex health care topics.

I encourage you to attend this event. Dr. Berwick has been a seminal figure in advancing and defining accountable care, most recently in his role as the head of CMS. His inclination towards multiple, simultaneous innovation experiments is pivotal in accelerating the learning and diffusion of the experience that can transform healthcare delivery in the U.S. Despite criticism by advocates of more traditional “controlled” experimentation, Berwick’s assertion that each organization can monitor and gauge progress is a practical way to scale and build out the kind of advancements that can flourish, like the Enhanced Primary Care model sponsored by CDPHP.
