Hi Paul – Thank you for your comment! Our Top Doctors report is based on data collected from our Enhanced Primary Care practices. It is reviewed and changes from year to year, so keep an eye out for next year’s report!

Catalano’s most egregios statement, while she was tearing me apart, was that I was only 11 years older than she was and she expected to be doing a lot more when she was my age than I was doing. (I was recovering from several lithotripsy experiences being done at Berkshire Medical Center, some 100 miles from my residence and she was very annoyed that I wasn’t doing something she required of me. I can’t remember what it was, but it involved a physical exertion I was beyond my ability at the time. This was in 2002. Perhaps she has improved and discovered that 11 years is a long time after the age of 70. )
John D. Bennett
Hi Linda – We’re sorry to hear about your negative experiences but do appreciate your continued CDPHP membership. If we can be of assistance with any of your needs, please do not hesitate to contact us.

When on the above referenced page, clicking either the “Community Care Physicians, PC – Partners in Family Medicine North Greenbush” or “Community Care Physicians, PC – Niskayuna Internal Medicine” brings up the Niskayuna Internal Medicine website.

Hi Timothy – Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We’ve corrected the error.

Thank you for your 2018 Annual Report. On the Best of the Best Report, clicking on Kathleen Catalano D.O. brings me to the Daily Dose blog page and an error stating ‘file not found’. Thanks! (error page is pasted in the Comment/website field)

Hi Suzanne – Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We’ve corrected the the link.

Your headlines read – TOP Physicians” but you fail to deliver .Most of what I see are GROUPS and not individual physicians. I would think that in any group all clinicians are not equal ,. When I get a recommendation from my primary the primary doesn’t say – oh may an appointment with this group – anyone will do – the primary usually indicates which clinician I should see. Likewise with choosing a primary care person – I’d not think that in any group all clinicians are equal.
John D. Bennett
Hi Leslie – Thank you for your comment. Our Top Doctors list is based on data collected at the practice level from offices that are part of our Enhanced Primary Care program. These sites are collectively performing above what is required of them. However, it is certainly a future goal of ours to be able to recognize individual physicians for their efforts as this data becomes more refined.
Richard Ellis
Very disapointed that Dr. Richard Orsi from Partners in Family Medicine in Brunswick was not included in the Best of the Best. I have found Dr. Orsi to be a very thorough, knowledgable and caring physcian over the last 35 years. His diagnostic capabilities are second to none.
John D. Bennett
Hi Richard – Thank you for taking the time to comment. We’re glad to hear that you’ve been so pleased with Dr. Orsi. We review data for our Top Doctors report year to year, so keep an eye out for next year’s results.

I can not believe Family Medical Group’s, Dr. Keith A. Rebehn was not among the best of the best. My husband and I have been going to him for more than 20 years and would trade him for ANY other doctor!
John D. Bennett
Hello, Donna Jo! It’s so great to hear so many patients are pleased with their physicians! Once again, we review our Top Doctors data each year, so please keep an eye out for the report next year. Thanks for the comment and happy holidays!
Carol Caloro
I second that! My husband, my adult son and I all go to Keith Rebehn and he’s the absolute best! I feel so lucky to have him as my doctor.
John D. Bennett
Hi, Carol!
We are so glad to hear you love your primary care doctor. That is so important! Thank you for your comment. Happy holidays!
Sandy
While interesting to the uninformed consumer, this page and the downloadable PDF file do not provide a clear picture for consumers. You have presented metrics without definitions. From each source of data, what are the specific questions that feed in to the results, and how are those questions aggregated to produce the ranking of practices? In other words, what methodology was used to generate these results? To determine whether this informaiton is meaningful to me as a consumer, I need to know what it actually represents.
John D. Bennett
Hi Sandy – thank you for your comment. Our Top Doctors report was compiled using the Healthcare Effectiveness and Data Information Set, or HEDIS. We use these measures to assess outcomes and the success of physicians and practices. More information on HEDIS data can be found here if you’re interested in learning more: https://www.ncqa.org/hedis/measures
Sandy
That is a vague response without the requested detail. For example, HEDIS doesn’t appear to have your best of the best metric and you chose to give no explanation of its basis.
John D. Bennett
Thanks for your question! The rankings are based on a variety of quality and patient satisfaction scores, including HEDIS (as you mentioned before) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) scores. Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions.
Randall
Dr. Bennett – thank you for being one the best CEO’s in the Capital District, it is refreshing to see that you are accessible to all members of CDPHP and for the continued support for our community.
Sandy – Please use Bacitracin or Neosporin regularly for that burn you received from Dr. Bennett
John D. Bennett
Hi, Randall –
Thank you for your kind words. The entire CDPHP team works very hard for our members. It is always nice to hear that our work is making a difference. Much appreciated!
Doreen
The listing would be more meaningful if it also included data down to the physician level. Yes, some things are controlled at the practice level, but, others are at individual provider. Some of these practices are quite large and all the data for all the providers are likely averaged.
John D. Bennett
That is great feedback. I will pass onto the team and see if there’s a way we can incorporate into next year’s report. Thank you!
Kathy Bear
Dr. Taneja is not a doc for me. He Rx’d statins without asking me about my diet or exercise. He said it’s the gold standard. So why is he listed in alternative med in the yellow page? I lowered ldls myself in 30 days by changing diet.
John D. Bennett
Hi, Kathy –
We are glad to hear you were able to lower your LDLs on your own – congratulations! It sounds like you are a very savvy health care consumer. You’re right, not all patients are the same. If you need help finding a new provider, we would be happy to help. Thanks for comment!
Medical Matt
Thanks for these lists, Dr. Bennett. I’ve already forwarded it to a friend in the area. For anybody who lives or works a little farther south near Poughkeepsie, I recommend this practice for general/internal medicine: Premier Medical Group.
John D. Bennett
Hi there – Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! We appreciate your recommendation for folks in the Poughkeepsie area.
Linda
It would be nice to see specific doctor specialties, like Neurology, or Oncology.
John D. Bennett
Hi, Linda! Thanks for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our Top Doctors report.
