Introducing People’s Choice Award Winner – Primary Care Provider

If there’s one thing Theodore Zeltner loves about being a doctor, it’s the relationships. He spent 32 years in private practice before deciding to “try something new.”

Dr. Zeltner went back to school and received his Master of Business Administration from Union College. He went on to become a Medical Director at the Center for Disability Services, where he had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of patients, including those with cerebral palsy, birth defects, and a myriad of physical and mental disorders.

“I found it extremely rewarding to be able to make a difference.”

Today, Dr. Zeltner serves as Chief Medical Officer at Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center, which serves 20,000 patients annually and specializes in woman’s health, mental health, and substance use disorders.

“The Center is known for serving lower-income patients, but we see people of all income levels. In fact, a number of my patients followed me here from private practice.”

Dr. Zeltner was nominated for the People’s Choice Award by a longtime patient, Nancy Kelly, whose daughter began seeing Dr. Zeltner following a car accident that left her permanently disabled.

“Dr. Zeltner stepped right in and was a reassuring presence as we navigated new health care challenges. He is very knowledgeable, deeply compassionate, funny, and we feel that is he is completely present for us and  listening whenever we see him.”

See who else made it to the list.
