Convenience. Healthy foods. Support for the local economy.
These are just some of the reasons people cite for attending local farmers’ markets. And it’s true – farmers’ markets provide all of those things. In addition, they can create a fun, educational (and tasty!) shopping experience for you and your family; enjoy the sun and fresh air as you browse a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, picking up your favorites, trying something new, and even talking to the farmers who have grown the food you’re buying! It’s an experience that really can’t be beat.
With the nice weather upon us, now is a great time to explore the Capital Region’s many farms, farmers’ markets, and community shares that make eating local even easier.
At CDPHP®, we know the value of a good farmers’ market. That’s why, on Thursdays through October 8, we are hosting our own farmers’ market, at 500 Patroon Creek Blvd., Albany, NY, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This year’s market will feature vendors selling fresh, locally grown produce, handcrafted items, and much more. In addition, there are a number of festivals planned throughout the season, complete with complimentary samplings. Visit the CDPHP Farmers’ Market to find:
For urban Capital Region neighborhoods, CDPHP is proud to sponsor the Veggie Mobile, a rolling produce stand that sells fresh vegetables at wholesale cost. The Veggie Mobile team makes dozens of stops throughout the week, visiting public locations, child-care centers, senior centers, and low-income housing facilities.
