5 tips for using your prepaid Benefits Mastercard

Your prepaid Benefits Mastercard makes using your Medicare Advantage over-the-counter (OTC) and dental benefits even easier!

Here’s how it works. We’ve teamed up with NationsBenefits to bring you one convenient card preloaded with your yearly dental and quarterly OTC spending amounts. OTC amounts automatically reload each quarter, but unused funds from prior quarters will not carry over. Use your card online, over the phone, or in person for eligible dental and OTC products and services.

Ready to get started? Check out these tips on using your prepaid Benefits Mastercard.

Activate your card as soon as you receive it. Visit cdphp.nationsbenefits.com/activate, call 1‑877‑205‑8005, or scan the QR code on the page that comes with your card.

Register for your Benefits Pro Portal. Visit cdphp.nationsbenefits.com and register using your CDPHP member ID. Be sure to include the two numbers after the space, often called the suffix. Once registered, your portal will show how much you have available to spend on dental services and OTC products, let you order OTC products online, and much more. You can even order a replacement card if you lose yours.

Find OTC retail locations. Prefer to shop in person? Use the store locator feature at cdphp.nationsbenefits.com. Choose from national stores like Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS, or more than 1,000 local independent locations. And coming later in 2024, Hannaford, Price Chopper, and Market32 join the list!

Use your card at ANY dentist. Pay for checkups, cleanings, fillings, dentures, and more with no worries about dental networks.

Swipe your card at retail location checkouts or your dentist office to pay for eligible products and services. After you swipe, be sure to select the credit option on the card machine. If you select debit, your purchase will be declined.

Log in to your online member account to see your specific benefit details. You can also get more information and check out FAQs about your prepaid Benefits Mastercard here.

Just trying to find out about my new benefits card. New to me.

My card is rejected at the retail stores. It’s also impossible to track orders made online now. Calling has NO results as reps have no Information or control of orders. We used to be able to track orders right to our door. I tried to purchase through CVS, Walgreens Walmart etc. They ask for a pin. Despite all your claims, this was a bad decision and resulted in more problems for me.

What amount of funds are available on my prepaid Benefits Mastercard?

Do I use this card to pay for my dental cleanings and exams or should the dental office just submit a claim to cdphp for payment as it has done in the past?

Can I use my card at a participating pharmacy to pay any copay that I might owe for my prescriptions?

It’s difficult (or impossible – I haven’t found out yet) to determine how much is left of the quarterly OTC benefit on the card as I use it. EAch vendor says it doesn’t show on their transaction, and I can’t find anywhere on the receipts that it shows what’s left on the card at all, nevermind separated out by type of benefit. It would be nice to know this amount while I’m in the store – for instance, the card got declined while I was trying to take advantage of a buy 1/get 1 50% off deal on Tums-type tablets. If I could have seen what was left on the card (if anything), I could have adjusted my purchase to 1 unit, or paid cash for the remainder (first), then swiped the card for the amount calculated &still gotten the deal.

Very pleased with the benefits card.

This year’s OTC benefit is incredibly worse than last year’s. Cumbersome to use, much poorer selection, costs that exceed market averages and goofy communication with nation’s benefits.

Will it be necessary to Re-activate the OTC card when it is reloaded at the beginning of the quarter or can I use it right away?

This plan is terrible. Pro Ban. Toothpaste I’ve used not available here. Went to order on line, selected what I wanted, hit place order, it didn’t go in red lettered warning came on and said the tax was wrong. So what good is having the catalog if I can’t place an order?.

How do you find out WHAT OTC products are available at a store location?
It is not clear on the web page. It lists the stores where you can use Nations benefits IN STORE,
    but that is all.

    THank you
