You asked, we delivered! CDPHP is proud to once again celebrate your favorite health care providers with the CDPHP Top Doctors Peabody Awards.

Named in honor of Francis W. Peabody, a physician, teacher, and humanitarian who famously said, “…the secret of the care of the patient is in caring for the patient,” our Peabody Award winners are celebrated for going the extra mile.

Nominated by their patients, peers, and the public, these health care professionals have shown extraordinary commitment, compassion, and innovation in their fields. Whether it’s through life-saving treatments, compassionate care, or advancing health care solutions, our Peabody Award Winners continue to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.

“My story is quite unusual. I was called to become a doctor in my thirties and entered medical school at 36 years old, specifically to care for the poor. That was going to be my life’s mission. If you’re called to be a healer, there’s no greater profession on the planet.”

Dr. Bob Paeglow

“We’re in a health care crisis in the U.S., and I realized that working with a special population of people with substance use disorders. Only 10 percent of people suffering ask for help, and of those people, only half get the help they need. It struck me how important it is to help them get treatment.”

Dr. Jose David
Albany Family Medicine

“My mother died from breast cancer when I was five years old. I knew as soon I got into medical school that I wanted to be an oncologist. You have such a connection with patients and their families. That’s why I love what I do.”
