Aging in Place with Help from ConnectRx Pharmacy
In August, CDPHP® Medicare Advantage member, Susan Rossetti, celebrated her 106th birthday. She marked the milestone in the company of nearly 50 family members and friends, along with a signature cake made by her niece.
Getting together with family and friends is a joy for Susan. But for her, age isn’t something she really thinks about.
“Age is nothing more than a number you have to write on a form every now and again,” says Susan. “Never mention your age. Don’t think about it. You stay younger.”
And somehow it seems she has.
Quite remarkably, Susan still takes care of the yard at her home where she’s lived for more than 70 years.
Even in the heat of the summer, she can still be found plucking weeds from the perennial gardens in her backyard. This summer, she also planted a hedge of Rose of Sharon bushes one-by-one along her driveway.
But Susan also happily accepts help where she can.
Her nieces and nephews come to visit and help around the house by mowing the lawn or bringing groceries and meals.

“If she doesn’t answer the front door, I always know I can find her out back gardening or sitting on her porch enjoying the view, watching the birds,” says Larry Parker, a ConnectRx Mobile Customer Service Representative dedicated to Susan’s neighborhood.
The two have struck up a friendship and enjoy visiting with one another.
“I bring her medications, and we usually sit and chat for a bit before she signs for them, and I have to be on my way. The pharmacy knows if we have a delivery for Susan, I’m usually going to stay and visit for a bit.”
“She’s an amazing lady,” says Larry. “We have a good time. And I am happy to be able help her in one small way.”
When asked for her secret to longevity, Susan replies, “You can easily give into yourself. I’ve never been one to do that.”
So even at 106, Susan lives independently, aging in place, with a little help from her friends, family, and ConnectRx pharmacy.
